Re-telling stories – group talk task opportunity

One way to help young children start talking effectively together is to use talking toys in groups of three.

Put your class into threes, and ask them to take turns re-telling a familiar story.

To assist them with turn-taking give each group a talking toy. That way, everyone knows who is speaking.

I like it because if you see who has the teddy you know who has to talk!
